About This Course

The Automotive Mechanic Advanced course is a six-month deep-dive into professional mechanic work. It covers everything in the 3-month course plus advanced diagnostics, full engine overhaul, transmission strip and rebuild, and complete vehicle health management — the full picture of what a senior mechanic or workshop manager needs to know and do.

Students who complete this course are ready to take on complex diagnostic and repair jobs independently. It's suitable for those who want to advance faster and reach senior mechanic level, or who plan to run their own workshop.

What You'll Learn

• Full engine overhaul — complete strip, inspection, rebore assessment and rebuild
• Advanced diagnostic techniques — reading fault codes, live data and waveforms
• Gearbox strip and rebuild — manual and automatic transmission
• Differential, driveshaft and four-wheel drive systems
• Advanced suspension and steering — geometry, alignment and adjustment
• Fuel injection systems — petrol and diesel, injection diagnostics
• Complete brake overhaul — ABS systems and hydraulic circuit diagnosis
• Cooling system overhaul — thermostat, water pump, radiator
• Vehicle electrical advanced — charging, starting, CAN bus basics
• Workshop management — job card writing, parts ordering, customer communication

How Training Works

The six months are divided into two phases. The first three months cover core mechanic skills from the ground up (matching the 3-month course content). Months four to six move into advanced diagnostic and overhaul work on complex jobs. Students in the advanced phase work on real workshop intake vehicles under close supervision.

Students above 18 who reach the advanced phase participate in live Matrix Car Decor production work — real customer jobs at professional standard.
